Newry travelled to Banbridge for the return game in their league campaign, and were the victors in a hard fought battle on a heavy pitch. The early exchanges showed Newry’s intent to run the ball, and with a Banbridge player sin binned for a dangerous tackle, Newry scored a penalty through outhalf Jack Hegarty to take the early lead. Banbridge then showed their forward power, and scored two unconverted tries, through a number of lineouts and rolling mauls, which the Newry side struggled to deal with.
With Banbridge tiring during the first half, Newry capitalised with strong running, and great phases of play, with running from deep in their own half, scoring tries by number 8 Aodhan Dalton, fullback Rory McParland and wing Ciaran Hughes, with jack Hegarty scoring two of the conversions bringing the half time score to Banbridge 10 – Newry 22…… CLICK HERE for the full report and shots !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
