On a fine afternoon for running rugby, the Ballymoney 2nd XV took on Dungannon’s 3rd XV in front of a small crowd warming up for the Halloween Hoolie later that evening.

Without a win so far this season, but gaining credit for the style of play, the 2s were keen to set things right, and kick the season off properly with a good win.

And from the opening sequences, Ballymoney showed their intent – initially absorbing a good set of forward drives from the Dungannon forwards, before clearing their lines and setting up in the visitor’s half. And the territory immediately paid off; from a ruck on the left, Neal Mulholland went through the defensive line and found Andy Borthwick on his shoulder, who managed to beat the last man and cruised in to dot down the opening score……….. see more at :-
