Jenny Bristow & Joli’s charity night of festive food, fashion and fun proves a roaring success at Ballyclare Rugby Club. Tickets were the hottest in town having completely sold-out 7 days before “cook-off”. Jenny demonstrated some wonderful and imaginative festive dishes assisted by Ballyclare RFC members, Lawrence Caldwell, 2011/12 Ulster Rugby President, Mo Finlay, 2012/13 1stXV Captain and Bruce Logan, member of the historic 2011 4th XV cup winning side in a “men can cook, won’t cook” theme. As they say, “the craic was mighty” with Lawrence eventually crowned Ballyclare RFC Master Chef!
Lorraine McConnell, owner of local Designer Fashion house, JOLI treated guests to the latest casual and party fashion just in-time for Christmas with the help of some budding, up and coming models from the community (some even coming out of their modelling retirement to help!). To top-off a wonderful occasion, The Pavilon was filled with Christmas market stalls aided by local businesses for guests to browse, sample, taste and order just in time for Christmas. Ballyclare RFC Vice Chairman, Peter Kirk said “It’s great to see such a great night here at The Cloughan. We have brought the whole community through our doors tonight and the support has been over whelming. This has been a real team effort and I must thank all of the local businesses for their support and generosity including JOLI, Ashers Bakery, Haggans Fruit and Veg, Grape Expectations, Bonita Shoes, Rosses Joint, Jenkins, Jenny and her team, Gary Weatherup Turkeys, Asda, Homestyle Interiors, Mauds Caffe 3, Parkgate Saddlery, Julies Homemade Cards and Little treats, Gleno Photo and Ballyclare Gazette. The club members have been working really hard to ensure tonight was a success and I must thank everyone of them. Finally, may I also thank all those who gave such generous donations to our chosen charity for the evening, The IRFU Charitable Trust for injured rugby players.”
As the evening came to an end there was many asking when the next Jenny and Joli extravaganza was planned at the club and would this be an annual event? WATCH THIS SPACE!!
