Omega-3s are known as ‘essential fatty acids’ for
good reason. They are essential ‘good’ fats best
known for supporting our heart, eyes and brain. When
most people think of Omega-3 sources, they think of
fish, especially for Omega-3 in the active forms of
EPA & DHA, with many people believing oily fish are
the only source. However, fish don’t naturally produce
Omega-3, they instead obtain them from a diet rich
in algae. Common plant sources of Omega-3, such
as Flax or Hemp, contain the form of ALA, which
needs to be converted to the active forms (EPA &
DHA) by the body to be utilised, but the conversion
rates are incredibly low and inconsistent.

Thanks to this knowledge, Vegetology has cut out the
middleman (fish) and gone straight to the algae. Vegetology’s
exclusive Opti3 complex is a novel combination of algae and
plant-based ingredients that provide the body with high levels
of Omega-3 EPA (300mg) & DHA (500mg) together with
Vitamin D3 (5µg). As such, Opti3 offers all the benefits of
Omega-3 without harming a single fish or compromising on
lesser-active (ALA) Omega-3 sources. This is beneficial to
individuals who don’t consume fish for dietary or allergenic
reasons, those concerned about unsustainable or irresponsible
fishing practises, and the growing number of people concerned
about the safety of fish due to toxins and contaminants. A
bottle of Opti3 saves approximately 50 fish compared to an
equivalent bottle of fish oil source Omega-3 while providing
the exact same nutrients.

WHY TAKE OMEGA-3 YOU ASK? ACCORDING TO
HEALTHL INE , BENE F ITS OF OMEGA-3 MAY INCLUDE :

Helping to prevent and treat depression and anxiety
Improving eye health (DHA is a major structural component of your
eyes’ retinas, so supplementing with Omega-3 may help prevent
macular degeneration, which can cause vision impairment and
blindness)
Reducing chronic inflammation, which can contribute to heart
disease and cancer
Helping to reduce menstrual pain
Improving the length and quality of sleep
Helping to keep skin healthy and preventing premature aging
