Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Round Up Saturday 2nd February 2019
The draws for the 4th Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup, 1/4 Finals of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Bowl and 1/2 Finals of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Trophy competitions took place at the Kingspan Stadium on Monday 28th January. The draws were made by the President of the Ulster Branch, IRFU, Stephen Elliott, and Richard Caldwell, representative of the Danske Bank sponsors.

Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Trophy 1/2 Final Draw
Foyle and Londonderry College v Dromore High School
Strabane Academy/Wellington College, Belfast v Limavady Grammar School
All these Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup, Bowl and Trophy games are scheduled to take place on/before Saturday 9th February.
Omagh Academy and Lurgan College played their Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Bowl 1/4 Final game on Tuesday 29th January. The game, which Omagh Academy won by 39-0, was played at Omagh Academicals RFC.
Both teams would like to thank Omagh Academicals RFC for the provision of facilities and hosting the game.
The Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Trophy 1/4 Final game featuring Strabane Academy and Wellington College, Belfast that was postponed on Saturday 26th January was due to be played on Wednesday 30th January at City of Derry RFC. However, due to the prevailing weather conditions this game was postponed
Also on Wednesday 30th January a few Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Cup and Plate games were played.
Ballyclare High School hosted Methodist College, Belfast in the 3rd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Cup. The Methodist College team won the game by 41-15.
Campbell College, Belfast 2ndxv played Wallace High School 2ndxv in the 3rd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Cup at CIYMS RFC. The Campbell College, Belfast 2ndxv won the game by 48-14.
Both teams would like to thank CIYMS RFC for the provision of facilities and hosting the game.
On the same afternoon Regent House School played Friends’ School, Lisburn in the 2nd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Plate. The Regent House School team won the game by 55-5.
The Grosvenor Grammar School and Foyle and Londonderry College Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Plate fell foul of the weather conditions which prohibited the Foyle and Londonderry College team from travelling.
That evening the Coleraine Grammar School 2ndxv team was scheduled to have played Cambridge House Grammar School 2ndxv in the 2nd Round of the Danske Bank 2ndxv Plate at Coleraine RFC. However, the game was postponed due to the prevailing weather conditions.
On Friday 1st February the Campbell College, Belfast 3rdxv team was to have played Methodist College, Belfast 5thxv in the 2nd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 3rdxv Cup. Due to the prevailing weather conditions this game was postponed.
On Saturday 2nd February the Royal School, Armagh 2ndxv team was scheduled to play Sullivan Upper School 2ndxv in the 1/4 Final of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Cup. This game was postponed due to frozen pitches.
In the same competition the Ballymena Academy 2ndxv game against the Royal Belfast Academical Institution 2ndxv was also postponed.
In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Plate the Portadown College v Belfast High School game was postponed due to frozen pitches.
There was one postponed Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 3rdxv Cup 2nd Round game scheduled to be played on Saturday 2nd February when the Belfast Royal Academy 4thxv team was to have played Methodist College, Belfast 3rdxv. Once again, this game was postponed due to frozen pitches.
All these games are to be re-scheduled to be played on/before Wednesday 6th February.
On Saturday 2nd February games were scheduled to have been played in the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield, Bowl and Trophy competitions. Unfortunately, all the games listed below had to be postponed due to frozen pitches. These games should all be re-scheduled to be played on/before Tuesday 5th February
