First league match played at castlereagh ends in success for scholars!

A very wet day at castlereagh looked like it was going to marr the skill level of both teams and errors on both sides were evident.

It was the scholars who broke the deadlock scoring first and added another in a great individual try from Daryl Hand.

The Eels struck straight back and played some good rugby when they were focused and took it to the scholars.

A try on either side of the half for the Eels were the only scores that they registered and with the dominance in the forwards being shown by the Scholars it wasn’t long before gaps started to open up in the Eels defence…

The game was played in good spirits with the end score being 42 to 8 for the Scholars…

There is a break for a week and then the Scholars entertain the champions when the Rabbitohs come to castlereagh in what could be a league decider game…
