21st July marked the first anniversary of the Ladies section at Ards RFC. On 21st July 2010 a group of ladies met and trained for the first time under the watchful eye of Ross Reid and Ian Caughey.

Sadly Ross has recently moved on, but Ian continues cracking the whip every Wednesday night from 6.45PM.

The Ladies have had a busy first season, including a first match against a Malone/Cooke side, filming Eggheads (soon to be shown on BBC) and a field trip to Newforge to meet some of the Ulster Rugby squad. Their second season will be followed weekly by prominent rugby blogger JL Pagano, on his Harpin’ on Rugby website.

The team is currently recruiting new players of all levels and abilities, so please feel free to contact Ian on 07917 646 980 or Pauline on 0770 3665 575 if you are interested in joining up.

Here’s to another successful season in Development League. Keep up the good work Ladies!
