UUJ HAVE ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL LEAGUE SEASON

With the League section of the newly structured “Student Sport Ireland” over the League positions have been confirmed.

UUJ 1st XV finished in third place in All Ireland Division 2A, an excellent result for the newly promoted side.
UUJ 2nd XV finished in second place in Provincial League losing out in the final match of league to QUB

Although not winning a League this season this was down to the decision to field two sides, UUJ is one of the few Universities/Colleges in Ireland who do this and therefore provide competitive rugby for all its members.

UUJ have now gone two seasons without losing a game at home on the “Jordanstown Campus”. Over the two seasons the First, and now Second XV won all their games with try bonus points and the few games lost were lost with a losing bonus point except one Second XV game where they failed to get a bonus point. This is a magnificent achievement by the Players and Management team which hopefully can be built on for another season.

February and the start of March will see the squad play a number of friendlies in the run up to the Cup games fixtures yet to be released.
