“UUJ 1st XV loose key player to injury for League opener”

UUJ 1st XV will be traveling to Monkstown RFC on Wednesday for their opening game against Dublin IT without influential second rower, Ronan McCusker. Ronan was injured in Saturday’s First Trust Senior Cup 1/4 final when playing for Rainey Old Boys causing the game to be abandoned 15 minutes early. The Ulster u20 player was soon notifying friends he was ok and hoping to return soon from injury, he now joins Michael McCusker on the Rainey and UUJ injury list.

UUJ have a number of Ulster u20s to select from but Ronan and Michael’s injuries will have an impact on the University side.

Belfast Harlequins player, Curtis McCartney who sustained an ankle injury last week will be assessed on Monday evening for the Dublin game.

UUJ 2nd XV have their opening game at Jordanstown in the Provincial League against Letterkenny also on Wednesday, both games ko 230pm
