Tyrone based accountancy firm Cavanagh Kelly have come on board this year as co-sponsors of the “Ulster Exiles” rugby sevens team which compete in the “Guinness Carrick Sevens” held 3rd-5th May at Carrick Rugby Club.

They join Charles Hurst Renault, Kinetica Supplements, Mars. Kukri and Premier Print in the support of this side

The Exiles who have been finalists the past three years and winning it in 2011 and 2012 hope to do well again this year but are without a number of key players due to long term injuries, Matty Maguire (Leinster/Portadown) fractured ankle, Chris Henderson (Northumbria Uni/Belfast Harlequins) fractured eye socket and jaw, Michael Kirkwood (Rotherham/Belfast Harlequins) Groin, Timmy Potter (France/Dungannon) wrist and Darren Simpson (England/Dungannon) concussion. Coupled with unavailable players it is expected this will affect their performance especially with two strong Fijians sides entered. There is also the the Ballynahinch NGN7s, side formed in the memory of the Spence family and who are on a high after winning the All Ireland 1(b) league. This year as always there are teams from Scotland, England, Wales and France as well as Ireland making for a great three days of Sevens Rugby.

However the Exiles will have a number of returning players with fresh ideas for Sevens Rugby but due to the structure of the side this year they will not meet up until Saturday morning.

At the end of the day this is about letting the players express themselves on the pitch and enjoy the end of season pressureless rugby and have a great end to a long season.
