Our comprehensive Wellman package incorporates more than 70 different tests to assess the function of key organs within the body including the thyroid, liver, pancreas, bone and kidneys. We also screen for several of the most common diseases affecting men such as cardiovascular disease, gout, diabetes and iron deficiency.
Also included in the package is one of the most important health screening tests for men over the age of 40, the Prostate Screen. The Prostate Screen consists of a PSA test, the most accurate and sensitive test for prostate disorders including prostatic hyperplasia, prostatitis and prostate cancer. In the UK it is currently estimated that 1 in 2 men will suffer from a prostate disease at some stage in their life with a further 1 in 30,000 men diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. It is therefore advisable that all middle aged men get checked at least once a year.
In addition to this we will also carry out a physical examination including measurement of your height, weight, blood pressure and BMI to help assess the risk of cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. Further tests are also carried out which focus on the levels of red and white blood cells and inflammation/infection.
The test is quick lasting only 30-45 minutes at our state of the art testing facility in Crumlin. A simple, blood and urine sample is all that’s required to test for most of the major health problems affecting men of all ages.
