An excellent performance by the 2’s saw them overwhelm a visiting donegal side. the strabane men blitzed donegal and were 29-0 up in as many minutes. simon mowbray opened the scoring with a penalty and it was a try fest from then on. robbie pattison finished off a flowing team move and nearly got a carbon copy a few minutes later, but was called back by linesman honest bert galbraith for a foot in touch. stu gamble finished off great breaks by ross smyth and stevey murdoch, and could have had a hatrick but knocked on over the line after a brutal penalty charge. johnny kee celebrated his return to the side, after a complicated tattooing operation, with a try. after a kick to the corner, mark young soared in the lineout to collect the ball and the pack had no trouble in taking jk over the line. john puffin blair capped another fine game with a trademark bullocking try and was very noticeable in the loose, never more so when toying and bouncing with the donegal defence to put mowbs in for his hattrick just before the final whistle. mowbs also kicked 4 conversions and ran the backline from othalf with great control and vision. the pack were totally dominant in all areas and the most pleasing aspect of the display was the willingness to keep working for each other. honourable mentions must also go to alistair scaldy gore, who donegal simply could not handle, bert galbraith, matty mcilwaine and willy black came on the second half and upped the ante. with stalwarts mal and nige finlay and simon maxwell misiing, this performance was all the more impressive, and if we can maintain this form and discipline there are only good times ahead
