Sports Video Analysis is a science normally reserved for the elite levels of Rugby. It is also a topic that is not very well represented on an academic or training front. That is until know, a Local Company, Lear Sports Training Company have developed a learning program in Sports Performance Analysis that has been endorsed and certified by ICQ an Ofqual recognised Awarding body. This new programme is the only one of its kind aimed at grass roots sports. The course is suitable for anyone working in a sports coaching, strength and conditioning, sports therapy or any physical activity role with an interest in performance analysis, clubs can even assign a member of its club to become their very own ‘in house’ performance analyst.

Performance analysis is an emerging science in sports coaching and can have a major impact at all levels. The content of the Level 3 Award in Sport Performance Analysis will demonstrate effective manual and video capturing techniques across a range of sports and explain the appropriate methods for collating performance data. You will explore and compare free Analysis software against commercially available coding systems along with supporting technologies relating to performance analysis and sport analytics. The programme provides you with a fundamental insight into a rapidly growing area of sport science and help you become the best you can be.

The company also provides a range of supporting services that includes remote performance analysis where you capture the video content, send in and they break down the game into categories of your choice. You can also avail of one of the companies accredited analysts who will come along to a game or training session and provide video analysis and feedback.

The course is part time and commences on Friday the 2nd March 2012 at 6pm, Shaw’s Bridge Sports Complex (Instonians RFC).
