As the Six Nations heads to the mid-way mark, a social media project is chronicling memories from the games in the form of fan photos filtered from social media using geolocation data.

Your Nations (http://yournations.org) stores photos from around the Six Nations stadia on match days, pulling through the excitement of the crowd during rugby’s leading international tournament, as giving you a real-time view of Twitter ‘possession’ as fans get behind their teams on social media at home.

To date the application has pulled in hundreds of fan images from the fixtures played so far, and will document photos posted to Twitter and Instagram during this weekends’ games.

Your Nations is a Six Nations first, and designed to give fans a feeling of what is was like to be in the crowd as the tournament progresses by pulling through photography from specific geolocations around the tournament stadiums.

The application allows users to browse to matches via stadiums or fixtures, at which point they can view a gallery of fan images for the stadium in question – following the pre-match excitement, the fixture itself and the post-game revelry. Photo galleries from games can also be reviewed long after the action has ended.

Users can also view a real-time view of Twitter possession, as fans get behind their teams using popular hashtags during games.
