Donegal Town RFC’s Fantasy League based on the Six Nations Home Championship came to a conclusion recenlty, and as with most things in sport there could only be one winner. This year it was the turn of David Woods to pick up the first prize of €250. David, whose Dad Brendan coaches the u-17s, plays centre for the club’s U-13s, literally came from nowhere over the last series of games to leave most of the competition in his wake. His score of 102 points was just enough to squeeze out Michael Breslin and push him in to second place and a prize of €150, with just a single point separating both of these top two finishers. Further back.on a highly commendable 92 points were Martin Quigley and John Foley who shared in the third prize of €100.
The competition overall was a great success with the 150 competition entrants managing to raise a thousand Euros for the Youth Section of Donegal Town RFC. Great thanks must go to competition organiser Paul Timoney who oversaw it all and made sure all entrants had regular Leader Board updates making sure the excitemnt was ongoing for the whole tournament.
