Virginia Girls Dominate The Day In Clogher valley Blitz

On Sunday Clogher Valley RFC hosted a blitz for Under 15 Girls rugby with four teams from Clogher Valley, Enniskillen, Virginia and a combination of Dungannon/Omagh/Lurgan entering the competition.

The weather was not favourable with frequent showers of heavy rain and wind, but this did not deter the girls.
Virginia played their first match against Enniskillen and the girls were in top form with the game ending in a score of 37-0. Their second match was against the hosts Cloghervalley and although Cloghervalley defended well, the match ended with a score 22-0 in Virginia’s favour. The final match of the day seen Virginia take on Dungannon/Omagh/Lurgan. Virginia proved to be too strong for this combination, and ran in numerous tries leaving the final score 53-0. The tries on the day came from Nicole Higgins(2); Ciara Byers(6); Ava Fannin(2); Lisa Mullen(3); Eimear McEnroe(3); Rebecca Snell(1); Amanda McQuade(1) and Ruth Gilsean(2) with conversions kicked by Lisa Mullen in the first two matches, and the final match Eimear and Rachael McEnroe both took over the kicking adding further scores for Virginia.
