Weather: damp after a lot of overnight rain, conditions heavy with little wind.
This was an encounter that Instonians needed to win against league leaders Bangor if they were to retain any realistic hope of retaining the league title which they won last season. When the game started they were 8 points behind the leaders, although both sides had lost only one game this season, Bangor had a healthy advantage having amassed 40 points to Instonians’ 32. Instonians do have a game in hand but one had the sense that had Bangor won and gone 12 points ahead then they would have had a big psychological advantage as we move into the second half of the league season……..
