Ophir not so Civil at Stormont

Ophir first XV, sponsored by Biffa and MCW Properties travelled across Belfast to take on Civil Service for the first time in 2 years.

Bolstered by the return of a number of key players, a strong Ophir team took to the impeccable Stormont pitches ably lead by club captain, Karl Davis.

Ophir kicked the game off and a strong kick chase resulted in the Civil Service catcher being tackled into touch.

The resulting Ophir line out was a carbon copy of last week’s scores, with the tried and tested combination of Flood finding McCabe in the middle of the line-out. This week, veteran number 8 Neil Gray was at the back of the maul, dotting the ball down over line no more than 2 minutes into the game.
