In the first Valley looked totally in control. Cooke came back strongly after the break and a converted try in the last minute earned them a valuable and deserved bonus point.
The game was only a minute old when a Valley penalty was kicked to touch and the catch and drive saw McKenna score. Converted by Holme Valley led 7-0. After 13 minutes a similar scenario saw Sharkey score though this time the kick was missed.
Cooke reduced the deficit with a penalty after 15 minutes and then scored a fortunate converted try when they charged down a Valley clearing kick. Until that point there had been little to concern Valley though Cooke at one point managed an overlap but their winger pulled up with a hamstring injury……. CLICK HERE for the full report
