Our Annual General Meeting and AGM was held in the Newforge Country Club on Friday 01 June 2012.

With our Patron Jack Kyle in attendance, the evening had it all – good food, cheap drink, X Factor auditions and the usual craic.

The toast to the club was propose by Carl Monteith with the response from our captain Michael O’Reilly.

Our President Philip Parker proposed the toast to the guests and this was duly responded to by John Martin, a top comedian from Liverpool. The jokes flowed and John kept us on our toes, as he engaged with the audience in delivering some first class entertainmnet.

A cheque for £1,000 was presented to Neil McConkey to support his charity efforts in raising funds for Sports Relief by cycling to Thomond Park, the Aviva stadium and then Twickeham in support of the Ulster Rugby team’s Heinekin Cup efforts.

Presentations were made to out going captain Michael O’Reilly and to Perennial of the Year Colin McKee, before our X Factor hopefuls took to the stage to entertain us until our taxis arrived to chauffeur us home.

Our annual golf outing was held at a sunny Shandon Park Golf Club on Thursday 24 May 2012.

Richard Black won the individual prize, Stuart Porter’s team won the team prize with Jimmy Hyde picking up the vsitors prize. CLICK HERE for pictures
