NUTTY KRUST FLOODLIT TOURNAMENT 2014

Wednesday night saw the third of this years quarter finals with an all County Tyrone affair with local rivals Dungannon v Omagh playing each other for a place in this years semi finals.
The game kicked off on cold but still evening and it wasn’t long till the opening score which came from a penalty converted by Dungannon’s outhalf Marcus Mulgrew .(2mins). Omagh drew level after 7mins played with a penalty converted by Eoin Murnaghan . Dungannon began to pressure the Omagh line but there defence held firm until it was finally breached by the prop Nathan Smyth to score with Marcus Mulgrew adding the extra points. On 26 mins Dungannon’s possession and territory saw them rewarded with a try the resultant conversion attempt was missed. 15-3 to Dungannon . from the restart dungannon possession saw them close to the omagh line but strong omagh defence kept them at bay. Omagh then enjoyed a period of possession but a succession of penalties conceded by Dungannon saw no 3 Sean O’hagan getting a yellow card .Omagh were unable to capitalise and the half time score was 15 – 3 in Dungannon’s favour.
The second half saw Omagh have a lot of possession and after a period of pressure further indiscipline from the Dungannon saw them reduced to 13 men . Despite there numerical advantage and pressure Omagh were unable to score with Dungannon holding firm in defence. On 28 mins into second half Dungannon centre Andrew Lee made a line break setting up scrum half Ross Devlin to score and converted by Mulgrew with an excellent kick.From the restart dungannon won possession and from a kick ahead no 11 Wiremy Terangi caught the ball on the bounce to run in and score with Mulgrew adding the xxtra points. 29-3. The final score of the game was to see Omaghs no 10 Neil Maclaine interception and to score under the posts with the conversion scored by Eoin Murnaghan
Omagh stuck to their task well and were highly competitive throughout the game , Dungannons defence was very strong and the pace in the back line especially at centre sees them into the next round.

Man of the Match went to Dungannon’s no 13 Andrew Lee and was presented by Barney Mcgonigle Tournament Organiser in the Clubhouse after the game
