Monaghan U12 visited Lurgan on Saturday last and started in tremendous fashion with a flurry of trys from the outset with James Hughes making some powerful surges, Jack Brannigan in his usual try scoring form and with Simon O Connell and Mark Hughes running in some long distance scores. Monaghan were proving to strong for their Lurgan opponents and so a number of the Monaghan players were loaned to our hosts for the remainder of the game.
The changes brought more balance to the game and what a good evenly contested battle we had. The game gave an opportunity for many of the players to shine and all really took their chances with lots of good work and trys to numerous to mention. Niall Carvill, Darragh Mc Elarney (great try), Aoghan Smyth and John Cambell got through some great work with Kevin O Reilly, Simon Tunny and Cormac Duffy showing well in broken play. Connor Smyth was always in control at the base of the scrum and James Mc Adam and Jack Madden making some powerful yards.
A real try-fest of sparkling open running rugby. World domination beckons for this outfit.
