Malone claimed a losing bonus point against Buccaneers in a high scoring game at Dubarry park, in Athlone.
Malone travelled to Buccaneers with a number of changes to their squad. In a high scoring game Buccaneers ran out winners with a 37-30 victory against a Malone side who according to President Gary Quantrill put in an amazing performance during a very competitive game.
The game was tied at half time at 20-20 but it was the home side that claimed the victory.
Malone scored three tries through Chris Leathem, Johnny Burgess and Josh Pentland. Josh also added 3 conversions and two penalties.
Despite losing this game the complete team performance will set the team in good stead for next weeks vital clash at home to Belfast rivals Harlequins. Malone will be looking to put things right after their disappointing performance last time out against against Harlequins.
