Talk about a high level of rugby. Brilliant game from start to finish with Malone RFC millimeters away from victory. After going 19 – 6 down they dug deeper and outplayed the oposition to register a series of unanswered points to bring the scoreline to 18 v 19 in the final seconds. Massive respect for the ability to focus under pressure in defence and attack, at one point just a metre short one Malone player was being pushed out of play by 3 players and kept the ball alive, literally one of the most exciting second halfs. high level rugby played at pace and intensity. thank you very much for the superb friendship and proud to support the Red Sox. Malone are a hard outfit and the power within their scrum not to in any way disclude the entire squad is big. The dedication in adversity and sticking at it in defeat and continuing to work at it even after the most flooring situations of getting ahead going behind, attacks that don’t quite make it, fatigue and so on in the knowledge that on a different day it can and will go a different way not by the bounce of the ball but when it clicks at Malone RFC there will be no doubt on this earth it will have been during these hard yards and bitter defeats in the knowledge of what might have been which makes it even harder and refereeing decisions and so on, anyone who was there on Saturday knows that the potential in this side is limitless, the friends that we have photographed and interviewed over the years, on those and these historic days at Malone amazing times and unlocking the potential in this side will be the work and determination of these guys in training and in the games away and at home the focusing in on the goal of playing the perfect games, because when it happens on this side the experience of these defeats will put an energy through their bodies that will be incredible. An incredible rugby club. Thank you very much for playing rugby because it is an honour as a spectator to witness such amazing talent and love of the game. Its so exciting to imagine just how good it is going to be. The character of the guys on Saturday afternoon won the day. The gritty mindset and pride in their team was palpable. Respect and honour for the decency and professionalism that you bring to the game.
