An Ireland under 18 schools squad has been selected for a training camp which will be held in Dublin from December 28th – 30th.

The squad will be under the direction of Head Coach Terry McMaster and assistant coaches Kenny Hooks and Paul Barr. The three day camp will culminate with a competitive game against the Ireland under 18 clubs squad at Wanderers FC on Friday, 30th December at 12.30pm. The under 18 clubs squad will be announced in the coming days.

Both squad selections are the product of the recent national talent screening camp that took place in Clongowes Wood College in October, which forms part of the IRFU’s Elite Player Development Pathway.

IRFU High Performance Manager Allen Clarke feels the camp and game is important for both squads in their development this season. “It is a further opportunity for the coaches to work with their respective squads in developing collective understanding, unit and individual skills, all of which will be benchmarked through the game on the 30th of December. After that, players will be monitored and supported in their schools and clubs leading into the International campaigns in March and April for both teams.”
