The Ireland Women’s Sevens squad to participate in the Amsterdam Rugby Sevens event, this Friday 16th May and Saturday 17th May has been named.
The Amsterdam Sevens tournament is the fifth and final round of the IRB world Sevens Circuit this season.
Speaking ahead of the Tournament, Gillian McDarby, Team Manager said “Whilst our first season on the World Series has been challenging for the squad we have shown great signs of improvement throughout the last few tournaments with evident progression.”
“It has been a massive learning curve for us and at the same time very exciting especially developing the talent we have brought into Rugby through the Talent ID programme and developing the players already within Rugby providing them with opportunities to develop even further.”
Ireland have been drawn in group in Pool B alongside New Zealand, Spain and USA.
