The Ireland Under- 20 squad -sponsored by PWC- has been named today (Tuesday, 28th May) in the PWC offices by head coach Mike Ruddock for this year’s IRB Junior World Championship which will take place in France in June.

Five players who were not involved in the RBS 6 Nations U20 Championship have been added to the squad, Edward Byrne, Adam Byrne, Thomas Farrell, Daniel Leavy and Jack O’Donoghue.

Luke McGrath will captain the side and in the absence of Robbie Henshaw and Stuart Olding, both on duty with the Ireland Senior team, he will bring experience to the role.

Speaking at the announcement, Ronan Murphy, Senior Partner, PwC, said:

“We are committed to supporting the development of Irish Rugby through our sponsorship of the Under 20 team and wish them every success at the upcoming IRB Junior Rugby World Championship in France.”

Ireland share pool B with Australia, Fiji and New Zealand and open their tournament against Australia on Wednesday 5th June in Stade de la Rabine, Vannes.

Ireland’s pool games will be broadcast live on TG4 along with the semi-finals and final games of the tournament.
