This year is the 125th Anniversary of the British & Irish Lions, and a group of ex British and Irish Lions and ex Australian Wallabies rugby union players rode 1,000km over 6 days from Melbourne to Sydney between the 2nd and 3rd tests of the Lions Tour of Australia 2013. The ride carried the official match ball from one stadium to the other, and will start and finish by attempting to break the World record for the longest community bike peloton, both in Melbourne and one week later in Sydney , where all members of the community will be invited to participate. On average WWTW spends £2,500 supporting a wounded soldier into civilian employment once they have left the military: to this end the Ride of the Lions goal is to raise £312,500 — at £2,500 per injured soldier that equates to supporting 125 wounded soldiers (one for every year of the Lions) back into work – CLICK HERE for donations page
