Donegal Town RFC hosted the u15 and u18 Donegal Girls Schools Cup competitions recently. This is the only contact rugby programme for girls schools in Ulster thanks to the hard work of local teachers and pupils who have a great enthusiasm for the game. 2 age groups from Magh Ene Bundoran, St Columbas Stranorlar and Carndonagh Community School took part in the blitz day with silverware at stake at u15 and u18 levels. This was the 2nd phase in the Donegal girls schools calender after a development day in november in Letterkenny. Ulster Branch Development staff Darren McGuigan, Declan Gallagher and Ray Gallagher where on hand to referee the games that saw Carndonagh CS win the u15 cup and Magh Ene collecting the u18 title.
Darren thanked John Reilly for organising the event and also Gerrard Doherty, Brian McNally and Brian Harkin for their dedication to girls schools rugby.
