The Rugby Players’ Association appoints Lotus UK in Rugby World Cup Year

The Rugby Players’ Association has appointed agency Lotus UK to support its commercial and communications objectives as the Rugby World Cup comes to England.

Now in its 17th year, the Rugby Players’ Association (RPA) is the representative body and collective voice of professional rugby players in England. The RPA enables its members to seek independent advice on any matter concerning employment and welfare, including: contract disputes, contract terminations, agent disputes, payment concerns and criminal charges.

Within this role the RPA offers members Player Welfare and Representation services as well as a comprehensive Player Development Programme to help prepare them for life after rugby. In addition they offer support to players who have been forced to retire due to injury or illness through Restart – the official charity of the Rugby Players’ Association.

Lotus UK’s brief is to increase the awareness of the RPA’s role, position the RPA at the centre of the industry and grow online and offline content through a media relationship program.

Damian Hopley, Group CEO of the RPA, commented: “This is a landmark year for rugby in England and by working with Lotus UK the Rugby Players’ Association is committed to ensuring the player’s voice is heard loud and clear”.

Sarah Johnson, creative director of Lotus UK states “We are delighted to work with the RPA in what is an exciting year for rugby. There is huge scope to promote the Association and grow its influence – and we look forward to doing this in a World Cup year”.
