Dungannon made a lively start to the game playing into the wind and moving the ball well they created a number of try scoring opportunities before big centre Stuart McKenzie crossed after six minutes. Plunkett McCallon converted.

Larne narrowed the gap on eleven minutes with a penalty when Dungannon were penalised for not releasing the tackler.

After nineteen minutes a break by full back Jonny Toal found debutant winger Peter Cashel in support to score an unconverted try.

Ten minutes later Peter Cashel showed his try scoring talent when he was up in support on the opposite wing. Following a quick ruck Peter dived over for his second try.

Two minutes before halftime Larne broke out of defence and their right wing almost scored a try.
After forty-four minutes when a Larne clearance did not find touch Dungannon forced them back into their twenty-two. From a lineout Dungannon drove up the middle before a Kirby Hamilton break found Philip McCammon in support to score a try. Plunkett converted

After forty-nine minutes when another Larne clearance failed to find touch Jonny Toal counter attacked with a strong run. The break was carried on by Darren Simpson who found Stuart McKenzie up in support for his second try of the afternoon.

A lineout steal by Paul McCarroll saw him break through the Larne lineout and when the ball was recycled close to the Larne line scrum half Jake Finlay dived over for Dungannon’s final try of the afternoon on fifty-eight minutes. Plunkett successfully converted.

A minute later centre Stuart McKenzie made a break that almost brought him his hat trick. Dungannon then unsurprisingly lost their impetuous and Larne pressure brought them a series of penalties which culminated in a try after seventy-four minutes.

Although Dungannon pressed again Larne defended well and the game finished with no further score.
A very impressive debut by Peter Cashel with Simon Potter keeping the forwards on the front foot.
