2 XV League: The IIs showed twelve changes from last week and performed well as they ran in seven tries against Rainey in Magherafelt.
Stuart Lester scored a hat trick with Richard Holmes and Paul Magee getting their names on the score sheet. John McGuckin scored a good individual try and Alan Cummings rounded off the scoring. John McGuckin converted six of the tries.
After leading 33 – 0 at half time the boys took the foot of the pedal as Rainey scored three second half tries.
A word of praise for that ‘Man for all Seasons’ Robin McCleary who packed down at hooker for the first time and now appreciates the higher level of fitness required at the coalface.
A measured performance which now puts the boys back on track to climb up the 2 XV League table.
