DONAGHADEE BACK IN ACTION THIS SATURDAY 11th Dec & DONAGHADEE WILL ALSO BE LAUNCHING THEIR MUCH ANTICIPATED 125th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE BROCHURE ON THE 18th DEC, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DEE ON REACHING THIS VERY SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE

The Donaghadee area may have been spared the worst excesses of the snow and frost last weekend, but the weather was still bad enough, and no matches were played. As this is being written the forecast is for a milder weekend coming up (Sat 11 Dec).
This Saturday
For Donaghadee’s First team the slight rise in temperature may not reach Omagh where they are due to play in the Qualifying League. Anyone interested in going should check later in the week. Both Seconds and Thirds are at home – the former against Coleraine 3 and the latter in the McCambley Cup against Banbridge 5.

For Your Diary
On the 18th of December for the visit of CIYMS there is a lunch arranged. At this lunch the Pier 36 November Player of the Month will be announced. The lunch should be an extra lively occasion as it is hoped that it will serve as the launch of the commemorative brochure for Donaghadee RFC’s 125th year in existence. This is currently at the printers and promises to be an excellent souvenir, and dare one say, a fine Christmas present. Reservations for the lunch are mostly in, but there are a few seats left if you are interested. If so, contact Hans Arthur at Grace Neills Bar, or Club Hon Sec Jim McGrugan as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The following Saturday is Christmas day if you have forgotten, but on Boxing Day, actually the Monday, weather permitting, the club’s usual game against the returning Exiles is on at Donaldson Park. Anyone who has not previously been at one of these should give it a visit. It is a great way to shake loose the Christmas cobwebs. On the day the December Player of the Month will be announced, and the results of the club’s Christmas Ballot will be announced. This is always an enjoyable occasion, and a good time is expected for all.
