For this opening game of the season Cooke ladies exploded onto the park! They swiftly settled into a pattern which saw them make ground, recycle the ball and maintain possession.

St Mary’s counteracted a strong Cooke defence using a penalty to their advantage when Niamh Fitzgerald converted.
In the second half following a strong passage of play a worn down St Mary’s defence resulted in a penalty converted by Cooke’s Lucy Fegan.

With the scores tied Cooke took the lead with a debut try from Grave Davitt which was converted resulting in a well deserved victory for Cooke ladies finishing 10-3.
Gillian McAlister stated “the hard work in training has paid off for the girls, and they held a strong line of discipline for the while game”.
