Finn Valley RFC, Donegal Town RFC and Ballyshannon RFC ran successful Tag Rugby Festivals at their local clubs recently. Ulster Branch Club Community Rugby Officers Barry Laverty(Finn Valley) Declan Gallagher (Donegal Town) and Ray Gallagher (Ballyshannon) had been in schools delivering sessions of the non contact game to children aged 8 to 12 culminating in a non competitive festival primarily aimed at recruiting new players for the mini sections at each club. Barry, Declan and Raymond brought club officials and mini coaches to the festival to promote each club to over 150 eager children at each venue. During the rest of the season the Community Rugby Officers will move on to other schools in each club catchment area and focus on other age groups such as u13s, u15s and female player recruitment.
