Clogher Valley 2nds 21 vs 10 Carrickfergus 2nds

Despite some last minute changes due to illness and injuries, Valley Seconds kept their Junior League One aspirations alive with a workmanlike home victory over Carrick.

McFarland opened the scoring with a try from a lineout which Dynes converted. The heavy under foot conditions made running rugby difficult and there were no further scores in the first half. Dynes , playing at out half, scored and converted the second try to ease Valley into a 14 – 0 lead but Carrick came storming back with two unconverted trys to narrow the gatp to 14 – 10 midway through the second half. Valley put the issue beyond doubt when Skipper Greaves chased a box kick from scrum half Glenn to get the touch down. Dynes capped a man of the match performance with an excellent conversion.
