The 2 sides had already met this season, with Ards having scored an aggregate 80 points to the Colts 10. It was going to be a tough encounter.
Honours were even for the first fifteen minutes, then Ards scored an unconverted try followed by a penalty to lead 8-0.

The Colts fought back with Jonny Kennedy getting a try followed by Andrew Lilburns conversion. 8-7.

There was only to be one further score, with Ards running out winners 13-7.
