City Of Armagh Rugby Club Ladies – Pink event raises an amazing £1,330.00 for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign!

Thank you to the ladies of Armagh Rugby Club who organised a Ladies Night at the Rugby Club, on Friday 26th October 2012. The ladies raised a fantastic £1,330.00 all in aid of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Ladies who attended enjoyed wine & cheese on arrive, health and well-being talks, entertainment and a pink raffle!!
Rosie Hassin, a community fundraising officer for Cancer Focus, says, “All money raised for Cancer Focus will be spent locally, continuing to support people affected by breast cancer in Northern Ireland. Cancer Focus is committed to tackling cancer by supporting research, providing care services for cancer patients and their families and educating people on how they can reduce their risk of cancer.”

Breast Cancer is now the most common form of cancer in women in Northern Ireland with more than 1,200 women diagnosed with the disease each year, but survival rates are steadily improving. Today, there are around 11,000 women with a diagnosis of breast cancer living in Northern Ireland.

On behalf of the charity and the Armagh Rugby Club Ladies we would like to thank the local support of the ladies who attended and local businesses for supporting this pink event.
