15 Under 18 Ladies travelled to Letterkenny on Sunday, to do battle with teams from Letterkenny RFC and
Finn Valley RFC. Under the expert tutelage of Mark Riddle, Philip Fletcher and Dylan Ferreira the Girls had
a very successful day. First up were Letterkenny in a “touch” match. Armagh emerged victorious from a
very close contest, with the Girls having to play at their best to overcome a very competent home team.
A “full contact” match against Letterkenny ended in another win for the Girls from Armagh, with
Rachel Totten and Victoria Irwin particularly outstanding. Among the try scorers were Gabrielle Fox, Laura
Henderson and Laura Donnelly with great offloads from Ciara Hawes. When under pressure, the defense stood
firm with Rosie Callaghan and Niamph McCord putting in some great tackles. The day concluded with a mixed
Armagh/Letterkenny team playing a very strong team from Finn Valley. After a ding-dong contest, the honours
were shared and the Armagh Girls headed home unbeaten. Everyone played with spirit and lots of skill and
can look back at their contribution with pride. City of Armagh Ladies would like to take this opportunity to thank
Jeremy Worth and his team of helpers at Letterkenny for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
