Womens’ Rugby in Armagh
City of Armagh Rugby Club’s Womens’ Section is going from strength to strength. For the first time in the history of the Club, the Mini section, on a Saturday morning, has now a dedicated girls’ training group. All Primary School Age girls are welcome and, at last week’s training, there were already 10 girls, ably coached by Hollie Templeton, with Junior section girls assisting. 9.30 to 10.30.
Under 15 and Under 18 training sessions are on Monday nights and are now averaging 20-25 girls, 6 of whom are now in the Ulster Under 18 final Development Squad. Their success is a credit to their coaches; Mark Riddle – CRO, Philip Fletcher – 1st XV, Adam Brennan – Personal Trainer and we are delighted to welcome Neil Rafferty to the coaching team. 7.00 to 8.30.
The Club is attempting to develop a Senior Womens’ Section, also training on Monday nights between 7.00 and 8.30. We have several regular Senior players, but would love more! Come along and ” Give it a Try”!!! Whether you just want to get fit, make new friends or want to play Tag or Contact Rugby, everyone will be made very welcome. For more information, contact Shirley-Anne Donaldson on 07754603868, or via the Club’s website.
