Carrickfergus RFC seeks new Head Coach (or player coach) Following a very successful 2015/16 season which saw three of its four adult teams securing league promotion (including the 1st XV to Ulster Qualifying 1) and the 4th XV winning the Butler Shield, Carrickfergus RFC is looking for a new Head Coach (or player coach) who will be able to build on this success for the 2016/17 season. Key Responsibilities: – Development and performance management of all adult players (men); – Planning, preparing and delivering training sessions; – Attendance at all match days (Saturdays) and 2 evening training sessions during the week; – To carry out any other duties that may be required by management and are within the post-holders capabilities. Key Competencies: – Ability to lead and realise the clubs stated objectives – Sound rugby knowledge, understanding and expertise gained from playing, coaching or through player management. – Ability to coach and understand the game to a high level – strategically, tactically and technically. – Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels. Competence to manage & motivate, develop relationships. – Formal IRFU Coaching Qualifications to the requisite level or equivalent.
