· New RAF Rugby XVs’ shirt is also unveiled and available to purchase for the first time ever
· Canterbury have been a partner and supporter of the RAFRU for the past 5 years

Canterbury and the RAF Rugby Union have unveiled a limited edition WW1 Commemorative shirt, which has been designed for supporters to pay tribute to the 100 year anniversary of the First World War.

The design of the WW1 Commemorative shirt depicts a WW1 fighter pilot standing in front of his aircraft (a Sopwith Camel). This is complimented by the iconic remembrance poppy and final line of the Ode Of Remembrance, ‘We Will Remember Them’, to honour a century since the First World War.

The shirt is in support of the Royal British Legion and will see a donation from every shirt sale given to the charity.

To ensure fans receive their WW1 commemorative shirt ahead of remembrance Sunday this weekend, Canterbury will be offering free next day delivery on all orders made before 12 noon on Friday 7th November.

In addition to the commemorative shirt, Canterbury and RAF Rugby Union have also unveiled the new XVs’ shirt today, which, for the first time ever, is now available to purchase due to popular demand.

The shirt is the traditional RAF cronulla blue with traces of maroon which gives it a clean international rugby shirt look and feel. It also features the Airbus Defence and Space logo who supply the new Voyager air transport and refuelling aircraft to the RAF.

Fans can also show their support with the new classic long sleeve rugby jersey and RAF Benevolent Fund logo t-shirt which complete the range.

As with all RAF Rugby Union apparel, a donation from each sale will go to the charities supported by the RAF.

With over 100 years of rugby expertise, the Canterbury team have ensured both the WW1 Commemorative and RAF Rugby Union XV’s shirt boast a contemporary design, which feature an evolution of their signature Loop 21 collar.

Wing Commander Ange Baker, RAF Rugby Union Media Representative said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Canterbury and are grateful for the support they have given us over the last five years. The look and feel of the XVs’ shirt is great and the design of the commemorative WWI shirt is eye catching. We hope that both shirts capture the interest of RAF Rugby fans and with a generous donation from every commemorative shirt purchased going to charity, I would encourage all fans to go and buy one to help raise money for great causes.”

Speaking about the launch of the new shirts, Canterbury CEO, Chris Stephenson said: “It is an honour to work with the RAF Rugby Union for a fifth successive year and their charitable work is something we are very proud to support through our shirt sale donations.”
