Match Update:
Bhsfp travelled to Co. Cavan yesterday to play an important league game. The match started slowly with mistakes being made by both sides. The High School went into the first half leading 3-0 after a long range penalty was slotted by Michael Hayes. The second half was tough playing into the wind and up-hill but the school dug in with the forwards out-scrumming the Cavan pack off the pitch. After a blindside attack off a scrum and some nice passing, Scott McFarland scored the first try. Cavan responded by kicking a penalty which took the game to 8-3. Kris Porter was then yellow carded for a high tackle. The school struggled and defended strongly for a period of 10 minutes on their own try-line to gain an important turnover by Hal Green. Kris Porter came out of the bin and redeemed himself by killing the game of with a try in the corner to bring the final score to 15-3 in favour of Bhsfp.
Man of the match was awarded to Ian Hanvey who probably had more carries than the team put together.
The next game is Virginia at home. Well done and see everyone at training on Tuesday and Thursday nights!
