The Co Tyrone side took an early lead with a converted try, Bann’s initial response coming via a Macauley Little penalty. Then Lock Kyle McConnell sprinted 20 metres down the wing for the opening try, which Little converted.
By half-time Bann were 20-7 ahead after Ben Cross, with Adam Stirling acting as decoy, had seen off three defenders in a 50 metre run to the line.

Little’s second penalty, five minutes after the interval, extended Bann’s lead and ten minutes later Richard Graham finished off a drive from a lineout by touching down for a try that went unconverted.

Midway through the half Omagh picked up their second converted try and although Bann came under further pressure in the closing stages they managed to maintain the 14 point cushion to the end.

Man-of-the-match was scrum-half Jason Gribbon, who displayed the full range of his burgeoning talents.
