Having secured the Ulster League title earlier in the season, Bann’s Under-17 side travel to Ravenhill on Saturday hoping to complete the double by lifting the Ulster (CE Bowman) Cup for what would be a record seventh time.

Malone provide the opposition and the scores of 15-14 and 5-17 in the league games between the sides, albeit both in Bann’s favour, suggest they will have to play close to their best on Saturday if they are to emulate the double winning feat of last season’s Bann side.

Bann have won 20 of the 22 games played this season, with only a solitary reversal in the Ulster League, 18-15 at City of Derry, and a 22-5 defeat by Navan in the All-Ireland semi-final marring their record.

Their cup run started with Group Stage wins over Virginia (45-0) and Portadown (39-0) before a 14-3 quarter-final defeat of Lurgan and 44-0 win over Clogher Valley at the penultimate stage earned their place in Saturday’s final.
