Old Belvedere 30 – Ballynahinch 26

A cold but sunny morning greeted those players and supporters heading south to Dublin for the Ulster Bank League clash between Ballynahinch and Old Belvedere. The supporters’ numbers were bolstered by an extra busload of Hinch U10 Minis and their parents/supporters also heading to Belvo to play their and Garryowen RFC U10s prior to the main fixture.
Ballynahinch headed into their 5th league fixture looking for an elusive first win in the top flight. Ballynahinch 2 27 Portadown 18

On Saturday, Ballynahinch 2nd XV entertained Qualifying One leaders Portadown, in the Quarter Final of the Junior Cup, both teams had met at the semi final stage last year with Hinch squeezing through by a score but there was a lot of changes in personnel for the two sides that took to Ballymacarn Park on a cold but dry day. BHSFP 2s 0 – Ballynahinch 6s 20

A fine but chilly afternoon up at Greenisland saw unbeaten Ballynahinch visit high flying Belfast High School Former Pupils and with the latters first team with no fixture it promised to be a tough afternoon for the Ballymacarn men. Mark Magowan returned to captain the side after a week in the sun and Richie Spiers was flown in from wind swept East Anglia to strengthen the squad.
