3’s Hang In To Secure Important Victory At Clogher
Clogher Valley 2’s 26pts Ballynahinch 3’s 32pts
Gateth Murdock reports from The Cran, Fivemiletown.
Hinch 3rds continued their winning ways with a win over a strong organised 2nd fifteen from Clogher.
The Hinch started strongly with early pressure from their openside flanker Murdock charging down a kick inside the Clogher 22; the lightning quick Christopher Kirk gathered to score beneath the posts. Veteran Gunson combined with the young number 8 Dickson to score in the corner with a training ground move that Gunson has perfected.

Not to be outdone by Gunson fellow ‘Evergreen’ Cullen combined with the youngster Nugent to cross in the opposite corner. Murdock got the next score as slick handling from Gunson fed Murdock on a line that sliced through the home defence and he had enough pace to leave the cover defence in his wake.

Andy Glenn and player coach Dornan warned the Hinch men not to become complacent at half time but their words fell on deaf ears as Clogher managed to slip over the line 3 times in the 3rd quarter although a perfectly executed kick from Cullen allowed James Magowan to get onto the score sheet.

Gunson got his 2nd try from good work by the forwards to retain possession within the C Clogher 22, with the English man’s weight he was able to power over the whitewash.

Clogher rallied in the final 10 minutes and managed to get a final try to finish the game at 32-26 in favour of the Ballymacarn men.
