Instonians took an early 3-0 lead with a penalty, but unfortunately that was as good as it got for them, as they were overwhelmed by Ballymena, who won by 62 points to 3 to secure a bonus point win. By half time Ballymena had scored the four tries needed for the bonus point, with Whann, Drysdale and McBurney(2) crossing the line. The game continued in much the same vein in the second half, Instonians showing little penetration and Ballymena notching up a futher four tries, through Jordan Foster (2) and Adrian Kirkpatrick( 2). Rory Drysdale continued his fine form with the boot, converting all but one of the tries. With three games to go Ballymena are six points clear at the top of the table, but ‘Hinch have a game in hand.
