Ballymena earned a place in the All Ireland Cup final with a tremendous win against Division 1A side, Old Belvedere, in Dublin on Saturday. Playing with a strong wind in the first half, they knew that it was essential to get points on the board before the break. And they did just that, with tries from Ali Frazer and Roger McBurney, David O’Hara converting one and kicking a penalty, OB had a first half try to their name, but the teams turned round with Ballymena 15-5 to the good. OB scored two second half tries, but another O’Hara penaly kept Ballymena three points ahead, producing a very nervy last ten minutes. Final score- 18-15 to Ballymena.
