Ballymena Mini Section under 11 and under 12 teams had a surprise visitor on Tuesday evening. Ian Humphreys took time out to come along and meet the boys prior to their tour to Edinburgh and Ayr in Scotland. Mr Stephen Surgenor of Charles Hurst who sponsored the teams touring Jersey’s was there to hand over the finished article to Mr David Allen the Club Chairman.
Ian then took time with the teams to present each player with their tour jerseys from Charles Hurst, Polo shirts, caps and bags from AWS Promotions and Water Bottles from Go to the Loop Training Consultancy. There have been a number of events to raise funds for this tour and the Coaches and boys would like to thank everyone who contributed in making this tour a reality for them.
They played a number of matches in Edinburgh against host club Corrie, before travelling back to Ayrshire on Sunday for a mini blitz with host club Marr, West Coast of Scotland and Ayr. Everyone enjoyed a great weekend of Rugby and will have memories that will last a lifetime.
The remainder of the Mini’s were at Ballyclare at the weekend for their annual Festival, which ran all day. The weather was ideal and this allowed the teams to play to their full potential, a mixed bag of results but overall a great day out, a big thank you to Aran Blackbourne and the team at Ballyclare for our invitation and a job well done. Next week half the boys are in Coleraine with the remainder returning to Ballyclare for round two.
